Orana Camp
146 Roches Beach Road,
Roches Beach

Orana is located approximately 20km from Hobart, on the Eastern Shore of the Derwent River - a few kilometres from the small sea-side town of Lauderdale. Conveniently located, it is approximately a 10 minute drive from Hobart Airport, with public transport to Hobart available from the front gate.
The 12.5 ha property has a safe sheltered beach frontage onto Frederick Henry Bay, and also provides easy mobility for disabled persons. Nearby local services include a Shop [1 km], Police [5 km], Fire Brigade [6 km], a Doctor [2 km]. Also easily accessible nearby, is Horse riding, golf and any beach activities, including surfing. A volunteer caretaker is on site to handle most emergencies.
The camp accommodation consists of 15 rooms in 8-bed bunkhouses. All beds in the bunkhouse are equipped with a mattress, pillow and blanket: but you will need to bring your own pillow case, sleeping bags or other bedding.
Beds will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis (upon receipt of booking payment), so book early to avoid disappointment since the bunkhouse rooms will only accommodate 84 persons. Overflow will be put into the Quiet Camp.
If you have a preference as to whom you would like to stay with (groups of 8), please can you advise the bookings officer and we will try to oblige. There will be at least one "snorers" room.

We are also running a Quiet Camp at a cabin park around 7km from Orana, for people who miss out on the main camp, as well as those who want to pay for higher-quality accomodation. See the Quiet Camp page for more information.
Alternatively, being so close to Hobart, there is a wide range of other accommodation options available for those who do not wish to stay on-site, ranging from hotels & motels, heritage B&Bs and hostels.
Cost for the camp is $400 for non-students and $320 for students.
